What a great site--reading the guestbook brought back tons of memories. Did basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas, went to Tech School in Biloxi, Miss. then on to Japan.
I was a snot nosed kid right out of high school and one that was in no way familiar with the adult world, my tour sure "grew me up" which I am forever grateful.
I remember AP Alley(who could ever forget) and frequented the Prince, Showboat,Shades and the San Shin, in fact I was in a band called the Valiants, I was the lead guitar player and the band cosisted of Bill Morgan from I believe Oklahoma on the Elec organ, Tom Engfer from the New England States on Bass, Charles Giannini from Calif on drums and Nick Greco from I believe Virginia was our vocalist--we played at the San Shin bar and the Club on the Hill--we also ventured out to Kuji City where we were over whelmingly received.
Names fade with age, but great memories never fade-some of my memories are good and some not so good, like the Cuban crisis, the asassination of JFK. I do recall the old shift work, 2T program and catching the last shuttle bus back to the hill before curfew. Trick 2's colors were blue and white for those that have forgotten.
I have never forgotten quite a few of my friends and even tho I have only had contact with a few, will never forget the friendship and loyalty we experienced
There are just too many good memories that I could write forever on, but space is limited. Hope to hear from some old trick 2 buddies.

Great memories, great site. I was able to find my old room-mate and we can't e-mail each other enough! I was a member of the Security Police unit on the Hill. Nickname: ( Ski ) Actually, because of the last name, it was the only name used. If anyone out there remembers me I'd be more than happy to share some great memories. Like so many others, I can't believe what they've done to the Hill!

I was assigned to Misawa after the Hakata Air Station closed at the end of 1971. I was a Morse Systems Operator. Worked for Arthur Stinson who I see signed in here. Hi Art! I left Japan the day Richard Nixon resigned from the Watergate debacle. I had many good friends in Misawa and I look back fondly at my tour there. I still use the huge stereo speakers I bought in Japan!

I'm the guy who got busted for breaking the windows out of the hallways at Wakani. WOW! Wakani... 54 degrees below zero. Has anybody heard from/about Lester Dates (Smokey)? Smokey was the AP who shot himself in the leg while practicing fast draw with his 45 automatic. How about Big AL Greene? Jimmy Lipscomb? Joe Brown? "Slim" My God, what was Slim's real name? Slim was too tall to sleep in a GI bunk. His legs hung over the end. He sold me most of my collection of 45 RPM records. (Some of it still stands up.) I'm 71 and wondering how many of the guys are still alive.

Three tours there (total 9 years) including my first and last plus TDY there in 89 as Chief of Comfy Olympics. 202 from aisle ID analyst to S&W Supv. Then to GAFB to train 202's who have probably long since retired. I retired in 89 and been an instructor at USAA ever since. But real retirement is in sight in early 08. I've been reading the guestbook and all sorts of things pop into my head so in to particular order: The Fishbowl...Mids... Lt. Langer...Mod-19s Mod-28s, Fritter... Mig-25, KAL... rollcalls... dew runs... after swings bowling... golf championship in 81... freezing in pay lines... Electron, Richarg Bong, Static Club... Rocker club... Chits... MPCs... Elvis in the ops snack bar... machi boots... AP Alley... Stand Bar, Cowboy... Silverwings, Rotary... Wajima, Takamiyama & Chinofuji... 360-1 yen... R-area... trailer housing... b-battery... Mole hole... fisherman's shack... base beach... golfing in the snow on Christmas eve... and on and on....
Glad I found the site and am continuing to look it over... Wayne are you out there? my e-mail is elpa@satx.rr.com

Guestbook Administrator's Comment:
David had a blurb about the upcoming 6922nd Det 4 reunion in either the VFW, DAV or American Legion magazine. Since we are all in the process of looking for the people who served in Security Service units, I encouraged him to "go public" and sign our Guest Book. Welcome aboard, David! If even one person sees your posting and contacts you, we have served our purpose: reuniting old friends.
